Anyone have a freq for Lexington FD? PD is on 155.550 per the DB, but there is no fire listed.

There is a patch on the Norman system (TG 19824). I know it's a patch because Unitrunker only shows one radio. :) Lots of traffic with the brush fires, but can't find the real VHF channel. Grepping the FCC shows a potential of 155.085, but no confirms yet.

Ideas welcome.

Today I was able to copy the CW ID on TG 19824 and it was WPVD490. That checks to a paging company out of Kansas and the license is for a large swath of central OK. The freqs listed were 157.905, 157.935, 152.645, & 152.675. Any ideas about what they got going???

Well they finally showed up on a repeater output freq of 152.660. This shows to be one of those phantom repeaters that seem to be popular over in McClain county. I don't see any FCC license just a borrowed call sign??

Somebody updated the database, too. Cool. Will monitor it regularly now.

The link was busy yesterday (4/15) with the "explosion and plane crash" on Etowah Rd that turned out to be, well, more of a controlled burn. No plane involved ...

What's with McClain Co entities and unlicensed ops?

Newcastle PD and FD both have repeaters that were just I guess put on the air (we don't need no stinking license). The database has them listed as such as they are on old vhf paging freqs.

now im not tryin to start an argument but i remember reading in the paper after newcastle moved to the repeaters they are on now that they signed a lease agreement to use the frequenices and the repeaters were at the antenna farm at sh 9 and sh 62. I dont know the details of how that works or if its even possible but thats what i read. Its possible they had it completely wrong we all know how the media can be.

Well you know that is a very probable explanation of all that. My thoughts were about finding no license for 152.660 on the FCC database. That would certainly work for Newcastle and the company that leased the repeaters to them are at fault for not getting them licensed.

I put lexington's fd channel in my scanner after reading this thread. Heard them loud and clear from Elk City last night. DPL appears to be 411.

If Lexington is renting repeater use from the same people as Newcastle I highly suspect the antennas are on one of the towers south of Newcastle. There is a 500 ft, 400 ft, and 300 ft that belongs to REC/OEC. The 400 ft belongs to Leons radio. and the 500 ft used to be tied in to Motorola I think. It is a nice high hill very close to Channel 4's super duper south radar. Those systems have very good coverage.

Mclain Co and Unlicensed radios

And then there was the time (recently) when the Mclain County Sheriff's Office had to reprogram all their VHF radios because the inbreds at an OK radio shop sold them two new repeaters and didn't bother to license the frequencies. Too bad they were closed spaced to another law enforcement agency in the metro area. (Too bad they got caught...)

And you guys probably wondered why they suddenly changed frequencies didn't you?? (what was it someone was saying about unlicensed radios in the Mclain/Cleveland County areas?

Old, old thread ...

But I'm resurrecting it. Lexington, Slaughterville, and the Cedar Country FPD all have new VHF assignments. The WPVD490 / 152.660 repeater is said to be going away (or is gone?). I've had the Slaughterville and CCFPD stuff in my radio but have yet to hear anything. From the licenses, it appears to be NFM and not some sort of digital (thank goodness).

Slaughterville

154.1525R / 158.9175 (in)

CCFPD

159.3900R / 154.4375 (in)
158.9625 - fireground?

Lexington

I can't figure out which of these is a repeater and which would be the input. If they ever get used, we'll know pretty quickly.

151.0100
154.2425
155.5350
158.7675

I wouldn't bother updating the DB with these since they aren't in use yet.

A ha. 158.7675R active today with fire traffic. DCS 243. I assume it's Lexington, but am not 100% certain. Not close enough to know hear the input to the repeater, either.

Interesting. Just heard a Cedar Country FPD unit return to quarters. Scratchy here, so didn't catch the whole transmission. Maybe all the county VFDs are on this channel now?

Heard them just now on 154.1525R using DCS 723. Will listen a for a while then submit to the DB (assuming it isn't there yet).

Seems to be simulcast on OKWIN/48304. Dunno if this link replaces 152.66 or is an addition. Got two receivers going now.

I don't think 152.66 is in service any more. Currently listening to 154.5425R (DCS 723) and it's the same traffic on OKWIN/48304.
