After a long absence from UTE monitoring (15 yrs) this is my first catch at 244z
Base is clear, S5, Ac are sometimes readable just above the noise.

Pretty cool.

Off topic:
Living in a highly urbanized area (Wilmington DE now and the Philly area in the past) the noise floor killed me with my attic strung dipoles. Did some research, purchased a T2FD antenna :John Conover: Terminated Tilted Folded Dipole Shortwave Antenna

Strung it up off the neighbors fence (with bungee cords) and over a high tree limb (50' AC cord) tied to the other neighbors fence. 63' length. Maybe a 20 degree slope.
100' of RG8X into the old Sony 2010. Wow. Local noise in no problem despite being parallel to the power lines, not enough tilt, minimal grounding (didn't make much difference for my temp. use) Great RX in general.

Anyone want to part with a NRD535!

Looking forward to contributing more...as time permits anyhow!

Dave

Wonder if the freqs they pick for the transmissions have some sort of previous significance in that area.

Here's a similar recording. This one tuned in on frequency properly.

US/UN Shortwave Recording - Telling Libya Navy To Get F*****

It appears that this station has been dubbed "Cammando Solo" and can be found on 6877khz as well as 10405khz which, apparently, is jammed.

Commando Solo now in use on 6877 kHz to Libya
Commando Solo active again on shortwave

The article states that the FM transmitter is housed on an airplane, but no reference to the shortwave side. A ship perhaps?
