NMO's installed, while-u-wait.
Call the toll free number and talk to them.

The FCC webpages are a mess and they seem to break often. They probably don't even know it's broken.
Shouldn't be an issue renewing your license if it just expired. There is some level of grace period involved.

If you applied to renew your license before the expiration date, the FCC will allow you to keep operating until they straighten out the processing on their end.

If your license has expired and you haven't applied for a renewal, to the best of my knowledge, you can't legally operate. However, the FCC will hold your callsign for 2 years before making it available to vanity callsign applicants.

Yes, the FCC's online systems are a mess.

Here are some phone numbers of people who may be able to help you:
FCC Licensing Support Center at 877-480-3201 (Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m.-6 p.m. ET)
ARRL VEC at 860-594-0300 (Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m.-5 p.m. ET)
W5YI VEC at 817-274-0400 (Mon.-Fri., 8 a.m.-4 p.m CT)

thanks for the insight...called a few minutes ago...
seems since my license is 10 years olde I wasn't officially set up in the system so there was no association between username & FRN nor email!
nice young man sent me an email Reg & Associate username to an existing FCC FRN...

main thrust of email...

>>>Filers wishing to file online should register a Username Account and Associate the Username to an existing FCC Registration Number (FRN) by visiting the COmmission REgistration System (CORES) at FCC Registration - Login <<<

15 minutes back and forth within the system finally took me to the right spot and 4 minutes i had paid my dues...

that stated...trying to validate my new expiration date...

cheers...

and take a moment to remember those who perished immediately or those who lost loved ones or suffered the health issues aftermath of 9/11...

Thanks for the good information, my license is 9 years old and I went ahead and did this as well, saved me the time and frustration I would have run into next year.

from roaming their site it appears there is a grace period after the immediate date your license expires...

UPDATE...
had an itch...didn't get a receipt nor any type of acknowledgement nor could i ascertain on the FCC site my license had renewed...

checked the FCC site and it stays i owe 35$??? [using my best military phonetic outside voice >Whisky Tango Falcon< is going on...???]

called and was told this sometimes happens...nice lady stayed on the line as i reentered my credit card nonsense...as the system proffered a confirmation to my screen...

up to 48 hours for their system to acknowledges the payment and then sends out an email and a copy of my new license...

good heavens did the powers to be at FCC miss al gore's communication the government was coming into the 21st technology century?

on the subject of the FCC sites, it took me 3 hours on the phone the other day to

1. combine the apparent TWO FRN's i had into a single one (one had my ham, one had my industry certifications and grants), and update the combined one to have a email as the login for CORES
2. Officially abandon my older GMRS license from 86 because it had limitations.
3. Apply for a new GMRS grant.

Also, there was a bit of ****ery on the payment side, as my bank decided that no, i probably didnt mean to give the government $35 twice in an hour, and tried to reverse one of the transactions.

Just went through this yesterday. Called the FCC, & was on hold maybe 3 minutes. The agent took me through all the steps from first, to last, & the entire process took maybe 10 minutes. I still had a month to go, but I too never had a password for my FRN #. Today my E-Mail had my new license which I printed. Certainly quicker than the ATF, as I’m at 9 months waiting for my suppressor to be approved.
