Lifeline PL Change

The 155.160 has a 192.8 instead of a 131.8 PL now.

I wondered why it was so quiet all the time.
They changed the PL to match there other frequencies in Indiana.

Lifeline Air Med has two PL's.... I have monitored both. I believe one is for the tower and one for talk direct?

So 131.8 and 192.8 are both used?

As far as I can tell yes the 131.8 is the main tone you can hear both sides on it but the other one the helo is weaker for some reason as far as I can tell

Only 192.8 is used on 155.160 131.8 was dropped because of frequent interference from other co-channel users.

Ahh ty for clearing that up... heard both for like three days.. now only hearing them on the SAFE-T..... So will lock in the 192.8

I'm sure there are a ton of radios laying around with there frequency in them. Why not go to a digital PL, or even get a perm tg on Safe-T?
Keep the VHF for long range back-up

Switching to a new CTCSS tone put them out of interference. Not sure if they have 800 MHz radios in any unit that isnt a helo or a dispatch console.... Because if they had those then they should have a dedicated tg..... So maybe they have a patch system set up???

Almost every aircraft will have if not already 800 Mhz capabilities on all the statewide and regional mutual aid talkgroups. Unfortunately all the aeromedical providers in the state are not municipal entities and are not eligble for their own dedicated talkgroup per FCC regulations....so they say ! Most multiple site trunking systems don't like the altitude either. The extra height can sometimes confuse the system on which tower the radio is trying to talk to. Most cases the good old VHF system just simply works better for the aviation side of the house.

A lil on the weird side, most statewide TRS's have specifically allotted tg's for "Emergency Medical Responders providing lifesaving operations" which the medivac helo's fit into perfectly, such as ALL the Helos in SC on the Palmetto 800, Acadian Ambulance helos on the old LA 800, and LWIN, ALL NC medivac rescue on the VIPER. But hey every state is different. Probably a subscription fee thing. Now my next wondering point is how many Helo's will actually use the MECA AirMed tg's ? Anyway mystery solved thanks for the input guys.

Well it seems the Lifeline is now using the 800 more than VHF, maybe they got all the bugs worked out. They use both Flightwatch, and SWMA-9 on SAFE-T. Still not a single agency heard on the MECA AirMED TG's, usually hear Lifeline on the IHERN patch on MED-1.
