Hello folks

RE: Fire Department P25 Simulcast TDMA system

On my TRX-1, specific Radio IDs pertain to each unit. For example, Engine 1, Medic 1, Brush Truck 1, etc.

Is there any way to program the radio to receive ONLY those units ? Versus listen to the entire country wide department ?

Thank you

Yes, there are two ways.
1. Create a new scanlist and enter the Radio ID's in the TG field.
2. Create a new scanlist and enter the Radio ID's in the Radio ID field.

Either way should work.

OK, sorry.

I'm just so used to seeing the RID's and hearing the specific traffic for the Parma P25 System. Totally forgot about Private Calls.

Could this be done with DSDPlus? Or will that only still watch the RID's for private calls?

OK. I ** think ** this may be the solution. I need to listen for a few days and confirm things tho.

1. in EZ Scan, go to Trunked Radio Systems tab and choose/highlight desired Trunked Radio System
2. Under Trunked Radio System ID Information, choose Radio ID Details, then New
3. Enter Radio ID number, Alpha Tag if you want. I left Alpha Tag as "New Radio ID" to save time in this experimental testing phase
4. Set this to the scanlist desired. I created a new scanlist for this testing

That only works for PRIVATE CALLS for group calls it will identify the radio, but won't isolate the traffic for that radio only. Also, if you don't include a wildcard you will not hear any traffic except private calls from the RID you have entered.

Since you are monitoring Group Calls I'm going to bet it won't work...but I could be wrong.
