Does anyone know how to set up a live internet audio stream for a scanner. I would like to set this up for private use only. I am in charge of the local media's scanners and they would like to move one of their scanners away from the downtown are to a more remote location. They have a major intermod issue.

Also their computer systems are MAC not Windows. If anyone wants to get in touch with me privately email me at: ve3ctp@rac.ca

Thanks in advance

If they are going to use mac for the streaming comp, they might have a problem... I don't believe anyone has supported a streaming app that works on mac for quite a while. The one I've used is left over from years ago, and barely works on OSX 10.2.8. If they're just going to listen, it won't matter. All you need is iTunes. If you're going to set it up on a PC, you just need winamp to stream. There might be an extra plugin for streaming though, I'm not sure.

There is an active Yahoo Group: livescanneraudio ---- I program 3 scanners for Clear Channel Radio here in Greenville SC. They stream BC-796 Video & Audio to Charlotte NC and do the Time Saver Traffic reports for this area 150miles away in Charlotte and stream it back to the 5 local stations. They do this at several locations across the US. The Grn'vl location is on 11th floor with one ant on roof and one in a window facing 800 mHz tower. Intermod is a killer at this location, but careful use of antenna type, location, ATT feature and PL Tone have these running at 100% without any intermod or other issues. It can be done. Good Luck.
