• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules.     If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

    The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello,
We run a KAS-20 server and do basic location services on our kenwood 5700's. A few weeks ago we went to upgrade the computer that runs the software so I deactivated the license(KWD-20C LM), moved all the software to the new computer, reactivated the new license successfully on the new computer, and when I went to open the KAS-20 software it gave me the "Software not authenticated" box. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software and LMC a few times to no avail.

Kenwood customer support told me to update to the latest KAS-20 but its still giving me the same error.

I went to move the software back to the old computer it was running thinking i may have missed a key somewhere but its now giving me the same error on the original computer.

Customer support didnt seem to know what the issue was and its been a little over a week since Ive heard from them. Is is possible I may need to buy a new key even though this key I have shows its not activated?

Any help with what direction i should go would be appreciated. My local kenwood dealer doenst work with this software so hes unable to guide me but he has gotten me everything I need when asked.

being a dealer, I also have KAS-20 that I use for demos hence the K2 key allows me to run both the server and client.
I need to see what you have so I can better suggest what the next plan of action would be.

1 of 1 tells me you have not activated your license yet. Have you completed that portion yet?

I may have found an issue while trying to show you the problem. If I do not have the correct acct .JKEFA for the license, will that effect the activation?

Found out when I cancelled the old licenses and exported the .JKEFS, the main KAS20 key did not export. The KAS20 is one key and Location Managment Key is another. Luckly I kept a text copy my key and activated. Mod can lock...
