I was monitoring LMPD and Clarksville during that pursuit. Clarksville said that LMPD has the guy in custody. At first I was like what the hell, why didn't I hear that from LMPD. Then I realized the 15 minute delay.
The lead Indiana unit's vehicle during the incident is equipped with a digital scanner that was used to monitor Metro up until they went encrypted which helped on many occasions in the past speeding up mutual aid. Those kind of situations are what is effected by Metro's change. I understand why but do see times where it can effect mutual aid situations where time is critical.

Interop in most places is gone again until the next SHTF day.... Its only a word being used to buy new radio toys in too many places now. "We need this new system as it is so we can all talk together" A year or so later once its built,... "We need to be fully encrypted cause that meth lab guy has a cell phone app, and we cant risk him hearing us watching him... What, the Sheriff and State Popo need to be able to work with us when meth lab guy runs all over at over a hundred mph? BAHHHH!!! Let them hear static! (Yeah it does sound like Khan in STII don't it?)"

A lot has changed since the first wave/week of riots. I can't speak to the knowledge of Natl Guard Helo's but KSP Radios were reprogrammed and loaded with MS keys.
Someone might want to tell the Post 4 troopers that. Several told me they do not have the AES encryption programmed into their radios. That is what LMPD is moving to within the next few weeks from their current encrypted channel. LMPD has told small cities they will program radios for them with AES encryption but the agencies have to supply the radios. Most smaller agencies are using the 2500's without an AES chip. They will need to decide if they want to spend $650 to add AES, buy new radios with AES, or just worry about themselves. Most are going with worrying about themselves due to costs.

They can add AES to them because a single key is being offered for nothing but I don’t think they are AES I think they went ADP but can run dsdplus to see if they are adp or aes. Xts 2500 can support aes as long as the radio supports.

As I understand it, LMPD will use AES encryption and the single key may work fine for them. However, if KSP was to have the single key variety, that may not work out. They potentially interact with more agencies than LMPD with encryption and thus many keys may be involved.

I have heard a few troopers in both Post 4 and 12 being told their re-programmed radios are ready. Whether that is for LMPD or something completely different. . .

LMPD right now is a Mix of ADP and AES, but I'm sure that is changing as radios get programmed

I didn't hear the entire transmission but it sounded like LMPD will be transitioning to new radios starting tomorrow.
