Local Live feed question

I am not sure if this is the correct forum please move if need be.

I was looking at my local area and noticed only fire dept live feeds no sheriff or police dept. Is there a reason no one runs a live feed for those? I do know they moved to phase1 viper (i think). i wouldn't mind running a feed once i get a new scanner but it makes me wonder why no one has a feed already.

thanks for the link but i had seen that post. I was more concerned that people were unable to even hear the chatter at all or that it was not possible to run a live feed for the area for what ever reason. we use to have 2 or 3 live feeds for the area and they just kind of dropped off.
if the reason is just users stop providing a feed i understand I was more curious if its a technical problem

Many times when areas upgrade to digital systems the feed providers are not in a position to monitor digital systems or upgrade their equipment.

If you have a technical question for a specific system you may want to ask in the state forum next time.

As W8RMH kind of alluded to, when an agency or group of agencies "upgrades" from analog to P25 or some other mode, many listeners will invest half a thousand dollars for ONE new scanner, but won't want to marry it to their computer to provide a feed rather than have it available for their own listening flexibility, traveling, "experimenting," etc.
