SDS100 / BCD536HP curious to what creates the need to re-enter location data. Anytime I make a change I usually update the location but I wonder if this is really necessary. thank you for your input
Are you setting the location in the scanner itself, but then have to reset when you make a change (in Sentinel? and write it to the scanner?).SDS100 / BCD536HP curious to what creates the need to re-enter location data. As long as you do not "write to the scanner", either a database update, or a new, or updated, Favorites list, then whatever location you enter on the scanner would remain the same. Besides writing from Sentinel to the scanner, the only other way that the scanner's location setting would change would be if you connected a GPS. That would reset it to whatever location the GPS generated. If, after using a GPS, you them unplugged the unit, the scanner would still keep the last location generated by the GPS unit.i guess I did not make myself clear. I am just wanting to know if I enter a zip code into the scanner, will it ever be be necessary to re-enter the same zip code or can I always assume it will still be there. like they say "Set it & Forget It" ? sorry about the confusion ..

Set your location in sentinel profile. Then each time you write a db update to your scanner it reset to your usual location. Alleviating your concerns on location settings.i guess I did not make myself clear.
