I heard the chief at a fire call last night telling a fireman to go to simplex 5 until we get a repeater set up, the chief was on tac 5.
I have never heard them mention a repeater before, is this something new?

Not new. Just something they don't use very often. Repeaters are on the Chiefs trucks I believe.

Not sure if they will still have them once they switch to the EDACS system or not.
