I am pretty sure London fire still uses the AM band for their primary radio system still.

In this picture there are radio on the two to the right. Does anyone have information on these? Are they AM just like the ones in the trucks or FM? And what type of radios are they? Thanks.

I think all UK Fire and Rescue use a standard set of UHF FM freqs for the Fire Ground handsets. The details should be in the database.

Yes, London (as with most of the UK) still uses 70mhz AM as their main vehicle-control radio system. Between now and 2010, all UK fire brigades will be using the same TETRA system (Airwave) that the Police (and shortly Ambulance) also use.

The fire ground handhelds will remain UHF Analogue and in London's case they are Entel HX400 series which I believe are personally issued to all fire-fighters.
