***BREAKING NEWS FROM THE COLORADO STATE PATROL!!***
DRIVER AND VEHICLE HAVE BEEN APPREHENDED!!
Date: 5-20-08
Time: 2:40 P.M.
Location: U.S. Highway 287 at milepost 320 near Vermillion Rd.
The Colorado State Patrol has located and apprehended the driver and the vehicle that was involved in an auto pedestrian fatal crash that occurred on this date (5-20-08) at approximately 1:22 A.M.
The driver has been identified as Jeremy Raisch, 34 of Windsor, CO. Raisch was operating a black 1999 Nissan Pathfinder, traveling northbound on U.S Highway 287 and struck and injured Cerridwyn Ursula-Laujan , 19 of Boulder, CO. Ursula-Lujan was airlifted and transported to Denver Health and was later pronounced dead by an attending physician.
Mr. Raisch did not sustain any injuries as a result of the crash.
Raisch has been arrested and transported to the Boulder County jail and will be booked into the facility with the following charges:
Failed to remain at the scene and give information and aid after accident involving death. A class 4 felony.
Failed to notify police of an accident. A class 2 misdemeanor offense.
Alcohol may have been a contributing factor on the part of the pedestrian, however toxicology reports are pending.
After further investigation, the Colorado State Patrol is also seeking information for the apprehension of a second driver and vehicle that struck the pedestrian a second time just moments after the first initial impact.
