My Father is traveling down 95 in a few weeks and i was trying to get his scanner setup. Does anyone have a list of counties and advice on what needs to be monitored. My thoughts are surrounding state and local police as well as DOT and EMS.

He is using a BCD396XT with GPS enabled.
I am using freescan to configure.

Thanks in advance.

McIntosh Co. is still on VHF and out there everyday with speed enforcement.
Glynn Co. and GSP is on their system.
Camden Co. VHF and SO is out there everyday with speed enforcement. 3 deputies out there last time I went through a short while ago.

I am monitoring SEGARRN (700 MHz P-25 Phase 1) as I type and in the last 15 minutes have logged:
Effingham county, Chatham county, Bryan county, Liberty county, Glynn county and various GSP units.

Generally speaking most GSP posts along I-95 in Georgia are remotely dispatched from Brunswick in spite of the different voice ID (the FCC licensed location is where the transmitter is but the dispatcher is in Brunswick). From time to time a special traffic enforcement unit known as Nighthawks patrol I-95.

GSP units have GPS and data terminals, they can receive DL photos and other info without a voice request that you can hear on a scanner.
FL state units on I-95 can NOT be monitored.
