Hello,
I am looking for common distress frequencies for my scanner. I would like to program a few in, just to monitor. Does anyone have any knowledge of common frequencies? I tried to do web searches, but the results were mixed. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

That'll be Marine Channel 16 if you are close to a navigable waterway.
a417's are the aviation frequencies for emergencies.

Other than those, you'd need to be more specific about what you are looking for. "Common" can mean a lot of things.

Just heard a pilot talking about a passenger that passed out. There was a doctor an nurse on the flight. Blood pressure was 110/90. Flight attendant got on the radio to discuss specifics but then it faded out.

I hear something almost nightly on 129.4 I just heard a flight from Chicago to Albany with some issue and they talked about certain checklists I think. QRH and EEC. They decided to proceed to Albany. They were between Ann Arbor and Detroit at that time.

What time do you hear these?

Right now. Seat 24C has a history of 2 heart attacks, 2 strokes, has a pacemaker and is requesting oxygen. DC to Seattle with over 4 hours to go. Just east of Flint. Medlink recommended low flow O2 for 20 min. Over Houghton Lake now.

UAL2613 had some passed out but seems to be fine now. They also wanted to warn the ground crew their APU is out and will be coming up tp the gate with the engines running.

121.5 should always be in a scanner.
THANKS for the tip on 129.4, it goes in the dedicated air scanner right now!

If you're in Parker County, according to the ARINC map, you want 131.175, maybe 129.450 for activity to the north of you, 128.90 for activity to your west

I'm on the Gulf Coast of FL, so I have 131.175 & 130.700 programmed for my area
