looking for help

I have a Uniden BC898T Bear Cat Trunk tracker III.It is about 7 years old.My squelch button has stopped working,I would like to know if anyone knows of a place in the Annapolis Valley area of Nova Scotia who would be able to repair it for me.

The squelch issue your having. Is it on all channels? or just the trunk channels?

Hello,the squelch issue I am having is as follows,when I try to program a conventional channel in it seems to work fine,but when I press the scan button,the squelch comes on and I cannot adjust it.As for programming the trunk channels ,I can program them in and they scan but there is no sound from the squelch button ,no matter if you turn it down all the way or turn it up all the way.

Okay, so when the 898 is scanning it's locking up on the conventional frequencies.
Is it all the channels, or just one specfic frequency?
Any transmitter sites near by?

It stops on the first channel that is programmed in(conventional),then I push the scan button and it will stop on the next channel,and that is what it keeps on doing.But in the trunk it just keeps scanning.It used to work just fine then it just stopped a couple of weeks ago.

What are the first couple of conventional frequencies, affected?
Let's see if anyone else is having a similar problem. It might be the frequency user
may have switch to different kind of radio system, Some of which sound similar to
breaking squelch.

First of all I want to thank you for your interest in my problem with my scanner.I have decided that I will get some one that knows more that I do about the workings of the scanner to have a look at.
