I have two slicers right now. One I built and use for Moto/EDACS trunktracking. It's a bit worn and I have trouble keeping the wires intact when I use it mobile. The other is a filtered slicer for LTR that was a gift.

I am planning to expand my trunktracking capabilities. I have already obtained 2 used Thinkpads and I will be running the DOS *Trunker family on them. I just don't have enough slicers, or the time to build more.

Is anyone building and selling 2-level slicers that are suitable for trunktracking? I would buy 3 or 4 if the price is right.

(I could use another LTR slicer, too, if they are available commercially.)

I'm actually thinking of building a few 4 level slicers...let me know...though im not sure of the time frame...probably a month or 2.

I have a 4-level that I hardly ever use. It doesn't work on trunked control signals.

I have a couple slicers made by and purchased from www.dataslicers.com, they work just fine. They have the "Pass-thru" option that allows you to run a second radio and the slicer thru the same serial port.

Thanks to all for the tips on sources. I have ordered a couple of the pass-through units from Dataslicers.com.

I still haven't found a commercial source for LTR slicers. I didn't see any mention of that option on the Dataslicers website.

BTW, their site does not have any provision for contacting them or for ordering multiple slicers in one batch. If anyone reading this is connected with the company, please consider adding a contact link for special orders.

I have one of there slicers and it works great, I also asked them if they made one for LTR Systems with the filter and they said no and they would not be making any in the future.

There is an email link for scan800@yahoo.com on the main page.

Dunno about the LTR slicer request though, since LTR uses sub-audible data there is no constant data stream to decode. To be honest though, it is the one area of trunking that I have no experience with...

LTR tracking is a bit different from Moto or EDACS, but still requires a slicer. MultiNet does have a datastream, as does PassPort, so they are more like Moto in that respect.
