Lousiana/New Orleans Metro FCC changes

Currently, a few agencies have applications pending with the FCC to modify their existing 800 MHz radio systems. They are as follows:

• St. Martin Parish
• City of New Orleans
• Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office
• Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office

This should be very interesting, in addition to the four 700 MHz application that are already pending before the FCC.

From what I can tell, this is just the start of official licensing for the 800 MHz frequencies for the Region 1 LATIE sites.

These are already in operation, but it seems that due to rebanding and such, no license was ever able to be obtained. Looks like they are using STA to get the ball rolling.

Again, these are not additional sites or frequencies; these are already on the air, just not legally (in those locations)
