Is there a way to rotate the map at all?
One Network is 99% on or around a coast line and would be great to have it spread sideways.

No.

I doubt this will ever be done because rotating will make the hard coded text the wrong orientation.

Turn your monitor on it's side EarHoles. Set your video card to rotate by +- 90 degrees... Water is too cold anyhow matie.
