P1225/M1225 M1225 Programming Help

Hello all and thanks in advance for any help or advice given.

My fire department is working on updating radios and was fortunate enough to receive some older ones from a neighboring department. Most are HT1225 and CDM1225 which I have experience and have purchased the software from past programming needs.

Along with the radios are two M1225 radios that the chief would like to put in his car and the assistant chief's car. I was given the 3.1 version of the software from a programmer friend, but have had no luck with getting this to work through virtual machine.

My question is/are where can I find the CPS 4.0 (to hopefully use with an old XP we have), or has anyone had luck with getting 3.1 to work through a Windows 95 virtual machine?

If you have purchased the Pro series CPS, you should have an MOL account. You will find the version 4.0 M1225 software under Discontinued.

I do not have a MOL account. I purchased the software with cable from dealer prior to him going out of business. Which is partly why we’re in the position we’re in.

It's out there. Google is your friend. Your XP machine will work fine. Anything newer than XP, forget it.

Thank you sir, yea been trying to find a 4.0 but only come up with the 3.1 which is what was given to me. Seems the 4.0 is strangely elusive, especially considering the age of the software.

I've never had any luck getting even 4.0 to run on virtual machine... I use an older laptop with XP to program our 1225's with no problem. We have a couple dozen M1225's we've migrated to pov's and even several P1225's still in use for the Jr's etc.
Very good old radios for rural analog areas that don't need a lot of channels.

Probably because 4.0 is designed for Windows and not DOS. 4.0 works just fine on a 32 bit machine running Windows 7.
