• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Hello,

I have a BK M150 that has been working fine until today it will not receive any audio at all. Does anyone have any ideas?

This was sent to BK early in 2022 to have some repairs made to the guts and to be realigned and tuned.

IS this a DASH or REMOTE mount? Can you get to the audio plugs and make sure they are snapped together? .....sorry, just trying to look at the simple things first. Another thing is to reinstall the Software and/or update it to the latest and greatest version. 5.7.7 for the Firmware and 5.8.30 for the Software. These were added on 7/14/23. See if this works...

It is a dash mount. I have updated to new firmware still nothing then also downgraded to older firmware still nothing. I haven't opened the radio yet, that will be my plan this evening.

It has not been programmed recently it shouldn't have anything to do with programming.

I have attempted to take it apart but it won't come apart acts like it stuck.

If nothing else has changed, then it sounds like something in the RF portion is fried.

Can the radio transmit OK? Could just be the antenna relay, but I'd assume they would fail with the receive open and not passing the transmit.

It almost doesn't matter at this point, as it needs to go back to the mothership unless you're going to DIY the repair.

Does transmit but gets locked up on the display. Just had everything inside replaced a little over a year ago... around $800 and about 4 months... not sending it back again lol.

What Rick said. I've seen a couple where the audio plug off the back comes off and is a simple fix. Doesn't require opening the radio at all. There's usually two spots for a speaker as well off the little accessory plug.

Its not a speaker issue. It has sound for the keypad beeps and channel rollover tone. It's an inside gut issue.
