• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have a few in band splinter freqs for Masrt III stations that I got a batch file for from MA/Comm some time ago. Has anybody figured out how they are doing this. I asked the tech and he informed me he had a program that did it, but he could not give it to me, and I was wondering if with a few channels of info, someone couldn't reverse engineer that calculator.

It appears that the 0400440DF string is the 153.00 mhz, but I couldn't get it to work out using a hex calculator.

No idea. What did the rest of the data in the batch file look like?

Without HW mods my M7100 goes up only just to 433.600. And sometimes unlocks VFO (after PTT, after warm up & etc.).

You need to realign it, its not just as simple as forcing the radio to retune. The filters and PLL wont go much higher than 434 without some tweaking.

What you mean here?

Yes, I understernd this. Just Kenwood, Motorola & other can go up for 10-20 MHz w/o any HW mods/HW tuning. But M7100 less than 4 MHz.

Just what i said before, you have to realign the PLL tuning circuit and adjust the filters in order to get it to move any further out of band. I have moved quite a few of these radios up to ~453 with about 45 minutes of work.
