• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Maybe you all have seen some of my FB, forum posts or recently I have purchased some CB testers from you, however I would like to ask for an item. Over the next year, I will be writing a new book, "Encyclopedia of CB Testers". So I have purchased from Craigslist, FB Marketplace, eBay and direct contact, about 32 CB Testers: CB Transceiver Testers, CB Analyzers, CB Frequency Counters and CB Signal Generators. I can say, what a list this is so far. From the late 50's till modern, list currently is over 350 pieces of equipment. This book will feature around 50 of the era from the 1950's till today. Brands being Sencore, B&K, Eico, Hickok, Leader, EF Johnson, Knight, Lafayette, PD, Astatic and even some of the China made stuff:, well it will be all I can find.
Upon getting each of the ones featured, I will be restoring all to like new operating condition less some parts that cannot be manufactured, purchased or restored. One of these items I have found via eBay are the Meguro MSG 228 series CB Signal Generators. One is the 23 channel version (this one is in rough shape) and the 40 channel (pristine and clean on the inside). Both have external damaged from who knows what and the 23 channel one is, for lack of a better word, PofS and will be tough but challenge accepted.
I am reaching out to this audience hoping someone knows where a copy, pdf or even has a few pictures of these manuals or instruction books for these Meguro's, pic below of the MSG2282A. Someone must have these in printed form and if they would not mind to let me copy or the send me a pdf, it would be greatly appreciated. I have already contacted Meguro in Japan hoping they keep such documents and from the 3 people I sent emails to, all had the same story which was: "we do not have those items from that era anymore". To me that is strange only because my employer, at anytime I can download manuals and drawings of everything we have ever made even from the Edison era.
As mentioned above, my plans are to feature around 50, fix them up and run them through a new test criteria for the modern view. all of the other 100's and 100's I will catalog, more along the lines of the brand name, model and function and perhap with all of the data of each I can find on the web and what generous souls would not mind to scan and send my way or even better, loan out and I will sincerely send back. I can do a gratuity exchange for ease of mind on the exchange if trust is not enough, which today for a lot of us, not easy.

If you an care to donate to cause, a thank you in the book and copy of the pdf would be all yours. Message me and I will send you an email address for more info. Perhaps some of you CB testing experts would not even mind to opine the list I come up with.
Thanks,
