Mahwah P25

Mahwah PD transitioned to new P25 channel assignments and P25 emissions today.

Unconfirmed reports are that Mahwah FD also transitioned to P25; still trying to confirm that as it was initially reported that they would remain analog.

Railbiker, DB has been updated to show switch over to P25 for PD/OEM.
IF FD has switched too, of course if you / anyone can get the NAC it will be helpful!

Thanks

Thanks all for the updates! How do they sound? And how’s the range? I know for me, in Ringwood, and even more towards the border(Warwick, etc) they were very staticky. I had to be basically in Mahwah(on 17) to hear them.

I live a stone's throw from Bergen Community College - They sound much, much better here since the conversion to P25. Every agency in Northwest Bergen that switched from analog to P25 sounds much better at my house (Ridgewood, Ramsey, Mahwah, Ho-Ho-Kus). I'm using an old 396XT with only the stock rubber duckie.

Conventional, yes. Midland Park and Wyckoff are not so good. I have issues with PD, but hear them most times. EMS is pretty much missing in action, very spotty transmission wise. Sometimes I don't even hear the rigs during a call, but hear PD fine.

Problems with receiving Midland Park & Wyckoff are most likely due to known reception issues associated with simulcast transmissions on scanners.

Just heard Mahwah from my house in Ringwood....that never happened on analog. Not once.

They sound pretty good.
