Today I heard from a reliable source that our county FD/EMS system will be going to a 'master' dispatch system on May 6th. He also said that it would be similar to the Pinellas structure and that the MCSD will not be included.

Anyone know how this will/may affect monitoring?

TIA

The Manatee County Fire / EMS feed on Broadcastify.com was down for some time. Since it's back up, it receives no Fire / EMS whatsoever. It does receive some Manatee County Sheriff's traffic (which it didn't before). The Uniden HP-1 no longer receives any Manatee County Fire / EMS traffic at all. What is the chance that an update will be forthcoming in the near future to enable the HP-1 to once again monitor these services?

I was able to update my HP-1 this morning and am pleased that I can once again monitor Manatee County Fire / EMS. Unfortunately, it appears that the update didn't include the tac channels, so HP-1 users are limited to hearing units dispatched to an incident but nothing beyond that. Is there a chance that the next update will include the tac channels?

I just submitted to the database. Figured Manasota locals would have taken care of it by now, since they are able to tell what tacs cover what areas. From what I can gather from my recent brief trips, Tac 2 is South and Tac 4 is West.

Thanks Bolt. It appears that the Fire / EMS dispatch that I'm receiving on my HP-1 is the simulcast on the VHF dispatch channel. After the initial dispatch, I hear nothing.

That's what I was thinking when you posted earlier.

This is what I think is going on.

04-101 EMS Fire Dispatch
04-102 Tac2 South Operations
04-103 Tac3 East Operations
04-104 Tac4 West Operations
04-105 Tac5 North Operations

What is the likelihood that this will be corrected / updated in Sentinel?

I concur. Heard some calls go out as I was northbound on the Skyway that work with that theory.

Also heard last night a structure fire on 04-107, which must be a Fire Tac.

It's in the database - it's Tac 7.

OK, being pretty much new to trunking and da HP, I used Sentinel to create a 'favorite' file with the FD/EMS (04-xxx) updates. Getting nuttin'. Is there something I'm missing? In fact I'm not getting any 04 channels (aka Tacs).

TIA!

With today's DB update, I'm now receiving the Manatee FD and EMS.

Wonder where I messed up before. Oh, well, all is good now!

A thumbs up out to UPMan for keeping us posted!

With today's Sentinel update, I'm now receiving Manatee County Fire & EMS dispatch ... However, I'm not able to hear any of the Tac channels.

I am going to post here the advice I gave to 69mets in another thread. If for some reason from time to time are not receving certain types of channels.Tap menu and select Select SERVICE Types and make sure the service types you want to listen to are selected.

69mets,

Prior to my DB update, I deleted my FD and EMS favorites lists in Sentinel. Then I created a new FD/EMS/TAC 'favorite'. After the update, I then selected the new FD DB listing and appended it to my new 'fav' title.

Just after today's DB update, the FD/EMS/TAC dispatcher was 'looking' for a Med Tech. He went through TAC 04-101 thru 105. That was a great verification exercise for my update!

If you're still having issues and you're in Manatee County or nearby, I'd be glad to do an in-person side-by-side HP-1 configuration comparison at your convenience and mutual location! I have a laptop, so that should give you a good look at my config.

Good luck! And LMK if I can assist.

ETA: Today was the first time I could receive any 04-xxx TGIDs. That's gonna save me $99!!!

Glad to hear you're up and 'chasing'! That update sure did expand my scanning enjoyment.
