Manatee-Sarasota County System

Just an informational post. I live in North St Petersburg just near the Howard Frankland Bridge, and just for the heck of it, I decided to turn on the new
Manatee-Sarasota County system to see how well I could pick it up. Suprisingly it comes in loud and clear inside my apartment with the RS 800MHz antenna attached to my BC436 handheld. I never turned it on before, thinking that I wouldn't be able to hear anything, but I was wrong.
This is definitely one strong system being 50 miles away.

I like it better that the old system. I used to get the Hi Hat Ranch & Osprey sites ok but Sarasota was a bit spotty. Using Unitrunker I needed 3 windows for all sites.

Now its a bit more streamlined with some Manatee County as well on a single site/CC.

Been listening to my SDS 200. Had no issue with monitoring Sarasota, City, County, Fire, Manatee and Charlotte counties. Then the protests started and my very expensive scanner became a brick. No Sarasota PD at all. Anyone else?

Agreed.... Sarasota PD is working just fine.
