I have a BCD436P2. Does anyone have any idea on how to input a non-RR frequency into Sentenel (preferably), or into BCD436 directly? If so, is it possible to append it to an existing fav list. I've read the manual, the easy manual, and searched YouTube. Thanks.

In Sentinel, open the Favorites List Editor. Open the system where you want to put the frequency. If the system is divided into Departments, you will need to open that Department. Above the list of channels, you will see a green "plus" sign. Click on that, and it will add a blank channel line at the bottom. Type in the info for the frequency you want to add. Don't forget to change the Service Type to the appropriate category, as this defaults to "Custom 1". Save the data before exiting the Editor. Then connect your scanner to the PC (if you hadn't already), and "Write To Scanner".

Confirm which scanner you have. You're calling it a 436P2, which does not exist. Did you actually mean a 436HP? Or a 325P2? For either one, you can add a channel directly on the unit via the keypad, but the steps are slightly different. For the 436HP, you can manually add a frequency to a Favorites list in Sentinel, then write the updated list to the scanner. For the 325P2, you either add it via the keypad, or use software such as FreeSCAN, ProScan, or ARC-XT.

So if you are on the run and you want to add a conventional frequency to a certain favorites list then hit menu, pick manage favorites, pick the favorites list you want, review edit system, pick a system, edit Department, pick a department, edit Channel, pick new channel an input the frequency. I always have 0 as a garbage favorites list so to speak with just conventional frequencies and they are for the most part all locked out. It's like a reserve library and that is where I would add a conventional new frequency on the run. Once you have entered an alpha tag Etc you can always press E and move it to any favorites list you want.

The next time you hook up to the computer make sure you transfer the card to your profile so as to keep any changes you made on the Run. That's how you do it.

The best way to have it added to the Sentinel Database along with the RadioReference Database is for you the person with the info to SUBMIT THE DATA TO RADIOREFERENCE

Oh, my bad. It is a BCD436HP. I don't see anyway to add any frequency to an existing Favortes list in Sentenel. Do I have to do it in a new Favorites list? Maybe, if you have time, step by step instructions would be appreciated. I just got the scanner for Christmas and where I live in Canada the RR database is limited.

Unless the frequency isn't confirmed and you are adding it to monitor and figure out user/usage.

Re-read post number 4. It's all there... step by step.

Post #2 tells you how to do it in Sentinel.
