Hello,
I work part time as a Flight coordinator for a medical helicopter service. We have been currently using Delorme as a verification tool as far as coordinates (Degrees, Minutes, Seconds) when callers call and want us to make scene landings. From what I understand Delorme is no longer in production and we are looking for another option. I know the aircraft (Bell 407) has a Garmin unit in it. Not sure specifically what model. And I know Garmin has software but I'm not finding anything that would really work for what we need. Suggestions would be great. I'm not looking for GPS/Unit Tracking, we already have that capability via skytrac.

believe it or not, we have decided to go with Google Earth Pro. Only problem is that we can not find the Mile markers. Funny because you can go to google maps right on the browser and it shows all Interstate mile markers.

contact your State EMA, they generally have a GIS Contact who may already have created those layers or shapes for GE or GE-Pro

Found using Mr Google

Thank you! The first link is very interesting. Is there any way to import only certain interstates or area's. This is a huge file with A LOT of markers. I would have to delete all other them except about a 200miles stretch of I10. My plan is to place the Mile markers and Mile posts in the area as well as hospitals, airports, and landing zone coordinates.

Likely YES, just copy the ones you need. And make your own KML/KMz from that file.

I'm sure there are plenty of helpful sites for learning all the tricks of GE and GE-Pro
maybe even your state EMA might have something from the GIS folks

Bet they even have the LZ or atleast the Hospitals, Fire Stations and Police Stations mapped
