New Hampshire Marine Patrol has sized all communications on 159.1500 P25 and 854.4875 PL 151.4 (Simulacast). They have Picked up Communications on 156.0900 PL 136.5, South Operations (Hillsborough, Cheshire, Rockingham, Merrimack, Strafford, and Sullivan Counties) and 155.9100 PL 136.5, in the North (Belknap, Carroll, Grafton, and Coos County). This Means Operations on Lake Winnapausakee are on 155.9100 PL 136.5 in Base/Simplex Mode. It IS all Analog. Unknown how long this will last, or weather it is a Radio Issue. If anything Changes i will post the new info.

The two frequencies mentioned are commonly known in New Hampshire as LP North (155.910) and LP South (156.090). These two simplex frequencies were originally implemented several decades ago to allow local police (hence the LP designation) to communicate directly by radio with SP headquarters in Concord. There are approximately a half dozen transmit/receive sites located in northern NH, along with a number of sites scattered throughout southern NH, that are all microwaved back to SP HQ in Concord and available Statewide through those County & State offices connected together through the LAWNET system.

The old 800 Mhz and single VHF channel that NHMP used were only local to Lake Winnipesaukee. Since 9/11 and with a greater statewide presence, especially along the seacoast, NHMP in Gilford, tied directly into the LAWNET system with access to all north and south base station have shifted all tactical operations to LP North or South, abandoning their old limited range VHF and 800 Mhz channel . Also, none of the LP transmitters in question have been upgraded to P25 capability so all activity is 25khz spaced VHF analog.

There are also several "orphaned" local law enforcement agencies, like Wakefield PD being dispatched on LP North by Troop E in Tamworth, that keep these two frequencies fairly busy, especially in the summer months.

Marine Patrol has been having problems with their digital microwave on Mt. Belknap. That's why they've been using LP North in the Lakes Region. Not sure for how long it's going to be like that.

800 Mhz & 159.150

but the 800 MHz simalcast is not

.....and they will still be usiing LP North & LP South as 159.150 is for local use around Lake Winnipesaukee and does not give them statewide coverage for the rest of their deployed units.

The 800 Mhz will probably go away as they continue to phase out those radios as the State has abandoned its 800 Mhz rebanding plan.

So Marine Patrol is going to be using LP North and LP South only when that does happen. I hear them on LP North and the 800 Mhz like they are simucasting.

They will continue to use LP North & South for units out of range of the VHF & 800 Mhz transmitter on Belknap mountain. And yes, they do have the ability with their current console to simulcast/
