FROM MY UNDERSTANDING FROM WJZ-TV AND WBAL-TV NEWS...
I HEARD SOMETHING ABOUT A SHORTAGE OF MARKED PATROL CARS IN
THE BALTIMORE CITY PD. CAN ANYONE THAT KNOWS AN ANSWER
TO THIS QUESTION
. WHY IS THIER A SHORTAGE OF MARKED PATROL CARS?

ALSO, DOES THE BALTIMORE COUNTY POLICE DEPT. PARTICIPATE
WITH PATROLING BALTIMORE CITY STREETS,(NOT THE SUBURBS-
BUT THE DOWNTOWN SECTIONS OF BALTIMORE CITY)??? AND
HOW ABOUT THE MARYLAND STATE POLICE?, DO THEY ALSO
PARTICIPATE IN PATROLING DOWNTOWN BALTIMORE CITY
STREETS?-THANKS-JLC

Shortage of Police cars well lets just say visit the City Garage Yard & you will see why. Wrecked, Totaled, Rode Very Hard and put away Dry. And they can't keep up with Maintenance or New Cars Cause of Budget.

On the Baltimore Co Subject No they do not patrol Baltimore City. Hell they argue about who is gonna take a call at the City Line and whose side it is on.

On the State Police Subject well lets say there is a big conflict of intrest there as well I am not gonna get into it cause it is an Embarrassment to Law Enforcement.

I believe Baltimore police cars run 24-7. And you know they run the hell out of those cars. Probably the only time the engines are turned off are at change of shifts.

Not at odds with the mayor? I wonder how much O'malley payed him to say that. Every City employee that I've talked to despises him. Buy more PD cars doofus. Even 300 cars isn't enough. That's most likely the bare minimum.

I'm worried more about our fellow policemen being put in harms way because of police cars in disrepair than I am about decreased scanner activity because of police cars in disrepair. When it comes to issues like this scanners take a back seat!
