I found this PDF Datasheet on the DHS web site. In a nutshell it is an app and hardware to allow seamless interoperability between smart phones and P25 based radio systems.

My question is how this concept would impact radio monitoring in regards to the ECPA since we would/could be found in violation of it if the system is adopted. It could be unwittingly be violated since we would not know the path the comm is taking through various systems.

Also, this just occurred to me. How would you know if the initial P25 transmission was encrypted, and it's being relayed from the encrypted radio's speaker into the smart MaXphone and onto an UN encrypted P25 system that you are legally monitoring.?

BTW Cannabis has not been legalized for rec use in NH yet, so I did NOT "smoke one" to come up with this thread.
Though the Bay States border IS only 15 miles south.....
