MESA COUNTY - A search for three snowmobilers was called off on Tuesday after the missing men managed to walk to safety.

Heather Benjamin, a spokeswoman for the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, says the three missing men were found in Gunnison County. She says they were thirsty, but otherwise OK.
No other details of how the snowmobilers survived two nights in subzero temperatures were immediately available.
Officials thought the snowmobilers were in the area of Buzzard Creek, east of Vega State Park.
Searchers from the Mesa County Search and Rescue were out assisting deputies on Tuesday, along with help from Garfield County and Paonia Search and Rescue.

On Monday, 24 searchers were out looking for the missing men, and a helicopter was used for a couple hours until a thick fog rolled in and snow began to fall, Benjamin told the Post.
