 Last year I was picking up Go Transit from Fort Erie on 410.0625 MHz it used to come in good with my Diamond D-130J Discone Antenna sitting on my Fourth floor balcony facing North, now I can’t pickup Go Transit at all, I see they have frequencies in Niagara and Fonthill but can’t seem to lock onto a control channel, will there be a system I can pickup in Fort Erie or a control channel in the future. Any changes coming soon to there antenna system. ??

Hi Steve, 410.0625 is a voice channel in rotation now for East Simulcast sites. You should have 410.2125 in place of it for your control channel.

How about the Waterdown site? Can you get it?

Hi mciupa, ever since they changed the 410.0625 frequency to a voice channel I can't pick up any of the other control channels. I just went out on the balcony and moved the discone around and the Uniden 396t will not lock onto any of the control channels, MAYBE as the weather and things change I will be able to lock onto one of the control channels in the next months coming or they will make some changes to the antenna's or to a repeater.

The last great propogation we had back in the late fall allowed me to snag 410.3125(Niagara) from Toronto. I can never receive GO Fonthill from here.
The weird thing is that it is totally opposite on Fleetnet, where Fonthill is one of my regulars, and Skylon is hit and miss

Yea it's really weird, I pick up a lot of frequencies in Niagara Falls, Welland. Port Colborne, Niagara On The Lake; St Catharines and I thought when Go Trains started to come into Niagara Falls I would have no problems picking them up, but I really don't know it they finished putting up there antenna and or repeater, I know the have more work to do at the train station in Niagara Falls but don't no if any more work will be on the communications side of things. I pick up both the Skylon and Fonthill towers for Fleetnet with no problems, I listen to both towers all the time. I would of thought having my antenna four stories high facing north and living on a hill I would have great range but when it comes to Metrolinx I have know luck at all.

Steve, give 410.3125 a try again. I'm wondering if I am picking up Metrolinx from Niagara?
I'm getting it into Toronto tonight and it is spitting out that it is Site 6 rather than Site 5 as is published in the database.
