Metrolinx Sites....Question

I have my new Uniden scanner working well and I am receiving everything no problem.... Rail Ops, Bus Op's etc.....I am in Brampton myself and notice the strongest signal coming from the "Niagara" tower.

Question is.....Am I missing anything by removing all the other sites....Aurora, Churchill, Toronto (Simulcast Zone) etc?

Seems to speed up the scanning process by removing these other sites. For some reason, I am MUCH closer to the Hillsburg site compared to Niagara..but Niagara comes in so much better.

Any feedback is greatly apprecaited.

I have a feeling that the tower may actually be in Streetsville and not Niagara, hence the good coverage for Peel.

Hope someone can confirm and submit data to the database.

A friend from Durham Transit told me that Metrolinx made all their single sites simulcast sites now for the upgrade that is coming. So this means Waterdown and Hillsburgh are now part of the West simulcast system. Also, Uxbridge site is now offline. It is being replaced with a new tower in the new year.

I'm hearing Site 5 in Toronto finally, decoding at 36 to 42% on my Pro-2096.

Anyone notice tonight that some of the talkgroups are not showing up? I have both the Toronto Simulcast and Hillsburgh Simulcast zones in and I am hearing nothing on "GoWestSouth", "GoWest", "GoEast" etc...


Only "GoNorth" and "GoCentral"

Any ideas or explanations anyone?

Today I noticed mostly GO Central and GO WestSouth.

The buses on Central (Union) were outlining their route from Toronto right out to Kitchener/Waterloo.

My understanding is that they have two physical sites and antennas on the CN tower - one faces West, the other East.

West South (TG 101) and West (TG 102) will be only found on the West site. On the East, North (TG 103) and East (TG 104).

There is also a two new talkgroups that have shown up TG 108, TG 109 on the West site ONLY.

The listing on the database is wrong for the talkgroups. I have seen the radio on the Bus before.

104 East Ops
105 Events West
106 Events East
107 Fleet
108 Unknown (appears to be used in West only)
