NYTimes reports today that the F-35s in Puerto Rico are based at the old, closed (2004) Roosevelt Roads NAS at the eastern end of the island, as reported previously. They also report that the MQ-9 Reaper drones are now based at the Rafael Hernández Airport in Aguadilla (BQN) near the NW tip of the island. I used to visit there in the 1970s, but I've not heard of any military operations from it until this report. The Times has an aerial photo of what appears to be ammunition storage bunkers recently built there.

First for me...
Press gathered outside waiting for POTUS to leave the Oval Office reported the helicopter that would be Marine One just took off. WH confirms the helicopter is refueling and will return.

Second helo landed short time after pool report above and departed WH at 4:15pm, it just landed at ADW.

1642 - AF1 departure, behind schedule.

AF1 to Jacksonville 135.05 (52 METTA)

JBU1287 to PBI following the CLMNT Two Arrival for RWY10L (ATIS says 10L is in use)

From the KDSM Facebook page:
That Canforce 3460 A-330 went into Tampa Intl airport from Cold Lake..Not MacDill.. Odd stop unless
moving on later farther South or needed lots more fuel than MacDill had?
ASY-602 B737 Wedgetail landed at Tyndall which I thought the Hornets were going.

1758 local Andrews F-16's pair A/A on 143.600 AM and ZDC 281.400 Pax Calvert Bay.

Canforce 3460 departing Tampa for home it seems at CFB Trenton..
This is normally a fairly recent Canada VIP Pax tail for overseas so maybe crew pax transport to Florida.
Maybe MacDill didn't have Customs working so over to Tampa?

Some night flying up at Vermont next couple weeks..

Got this from a fellow listener in Florida

MacDill is quietly supporting the operations in the Caribbean.
There are several tanker missions daily using the FUEGO callsign and not ADSB.
FUEGO has been heard a couple of times on 283.900 for AAR.

Also caught an E-3 AWACS yesterday in a recorded log, _____ 01, self ID as an E-3 on 323.800, also going into MacDill and not on ADSB.
They may be using the ABBOT call sign.

Yesterday on 311.000:
FUEGO 14
FUEGO 16
ABBOT ##
_____11
FUEGO 17
FUEGO 18

Already this morning on ADSB logs there has been these.
Not sure if they were inbound or outbound, only partial tracks at MacDill to the Tallahassee area:
64-14839 (KC-135R, IL ANG)
64-14837 (KC-135R, 92nd ARW)
What is the date of this information? If operations in the Caribbean areas are using the callsign FIRE, the KC-135s from MacDill

Odd fighter jet and escort plane base hopping Eastbound today.
CPX625 Italian M-346 Trainer type just stopped in Terre Haute Indiana from Wichita Kansas.
Behind him is Italian C-27J type I-2127..

US pilots will soon be training on these in Sardinia Italy.

US Navy has teamed up with Leonardo and Textron Wichita for a Navy M-346N model.
May see many of these someday replacing the T-38's.

Notice WINK tankers for Florida CAP working out of Cecil Field Jacksonville KVQQ.
Checking Notams KMCF MacDill is a construction mess with all kinds of shortages etc.
Maybe why that RCAF A-330 went to Tampa instead of Macdill yesterday.

RCAF Texan trainers all headed down to Texas for work. I think they did the same last year as well.
Remember seeing pics of Texas BBQ they threw for their crews when done.. Massive steaks etc.:)

Had interesting flight today. Late in the morning a C-17 (# 01-0187 Java 21) took off from Westover AFB flew down the coast turned in Richmond area then fle northwest past Pittsburgh. After Pittsburgh he flew eastward and is now (1530 EDT) looking like he's headed back to Westover.
I didn't know Westover had C-17s. According to my list #01-0187 is listed as 62ndAMW at McChord AFB. Are they getting out of the C-5 business?

The ANG F-16s finally arrived in Japan today, the "AC" ones were air-to-air on <298.600>
as expected, the Colorado ANG ones were air-to-air on <341.600>.

Can anyone confirm that frequency and/or has any other confirmed ones for these guys ?
298.600 confirmed here as A/C guys. Their most popular A/A freq :)
