1500- Tabor 24 working Raven Ops (275.7) w/acft status reports. Tabors also on 266.6. Advises they are 30 mins out.
A little bit late but here's a few shots of the TABOR flight landing at MTN on Saturday. I've been waiting on these guys since beginning of October when they were originally due home. The first cell of six came back mid November, but four went straight to Selfridge and then 2 apparently did land at MTN, but no one could ever confirm. Someone linked the article about how these were in Italy since then with maintenance issues. Anyways...enjoy a few pics. Oh...and btw....two of the TABOR flight diverted to Halifax on Saturday (1 MI 1 MD tail)!

1835 - ZOMBIE99 KC-46 21-46088 still orbiting east of McGuire at 3,500ft. Been in that low hold since 1435 local. I’m sure the tanks were filled before it flew out to Rickenbacker for Alert duty a few days ago. That’s a lot of fuel to burn off before being able to land.

Rgr that as 99 was not needed so still loaded up with fuel.. Seems a waste that they couldn't launch a near empty tanker
locally to take some of that fuel offload and save time and fuel but guess they know what they are doing.
This seems though kind of rare in length of time orbiting like that.

Both Amatos and the Jedi passed directly over me while I was driving earlier tonight. It was the two lower planes that caught my eye as they were in a close formation when I saw them. When i pulled up ADS-B at a red light, they were not visible, but the Jedi flight was. At the time, I joked with my passenger that we had finally seen some of the giant mystery drones everybody gets wound up about. The return path was basically right over my house and I could see the two Amatos coming towards me in the distance out the window. At that time, they showed up on ADS-B along with the Jedi who was on a slightly different course so I was able to figure what I'd seen earlier.

Over the past few weeks across various sorties, I’ve noticed that sometimes on their RTB in close proximity, the trail jet(s) will go dark on ADSB until they get low and increase separation. In this case, it’s specifically when the tankers are working out west, Pittsburgh area etc. I’m sure it has something to do with trying to keep traffics picture clear for ATC around the busier areas.

Squawk Standby - that reduces the clutter

Many times used with MARSA

Was out but at 1214 local DECEE-31 comes up on UHF on way home and says "Request authentication and current message traffic"
Adds afterwards "Authentication is Uniform."
Not sure what that was about.. Did a low altitude run up on AR-212 to Northern tip of Maine with ROOF-51 from McGuire
then back home to Andrews.
McGuire tankers busy today. Have 3 ROOF tankers 51,52,53 and 3 HOBEY tankers 54,55,56 up and about.

TEDDY-66 C-17 #07-7184 looks headed to Florida KOPF now from Quantico stop.

Just getting update on any current message traffic "aka EAMs whatever" and to do that they have to authenticate / challenge/ authenticate. So ground station sends them an authentication, they authenticate back and then so forth. Found this on the internet from AL (Alpha Lima) or wait maybe that is AI (Alpha India) or maybe it was HAL. I am sorry Dave, I can't authenticate you.
