My understanding is that MW engineering goes way and above signal required
for a path to account for weather issues. To have multiple paths impacted simultaneously is really something. I am surprised smoke density attenuation is greater than heavy rain or heavy wet snow and or hail.

The system issues were a culprit of the AQI factors having caused multiple paths to lose the connectivity. The RSSI values dropped significantly below operating values on multiple hops.

The microwave ring in the county was severed in multiple paths at different locations and times causing the DCP to flip between different towers. If one hop drops the links self heal and traffic flows the other way. if the ring splits in two separate areas the system cannot process calls or traffic contiguously.

As of 0800 today the RSSI has improved, as the air patterns changed and smoke cleared the system stabilized.

For the conspiracy theorist asking about the channels not being used, when the new towers were added for Edison's operation a total uplift of firmware and networking was needed to bring the system up to date. Any of you who has working knowledge of I. T. background would understand that these modes of operating change on a daily basis and a I. T. radio system is no different. More than enough capacity is available with 8 channels on a daily basis with the loading. The system is designed and built out to handle every municipality, county agency and for mutual aid assistance if needed.

In the next few weeks the balance of the channels will be enabled as upgrades are completed.

Im open for questions if you have any. A TRS isnt just as easy as flipping a switch and everything is happy!
thank u answering the question completely.. i appreciate it and as a user glad it’s back to working

I have 38 microwave hops around the state and none of mine fell at all. I have a mix of 6 and 11 and nada. Of course, some of mine are space diversity. But I can't buy the microwave theory unless they were already running close to the squelch out of the receivers and that little bit of smoke caused them to drop. If that's the case, the vendor that built that needs to be put on the rug and explain themselves. I have no clue what the county paid for...was it for 99.999% reliability or 99% reliability? Makes a different between minutes and days. 1686253276686.png

I suspect some math difficulties. Something not adding.

Nowhere near as bad as the week of 6/7, but I'm only monitoring on a G4. It still sounded like some of the professional equipment wasn't quite up to 100% duty either (when you have units missing transmissions, asking repeat numerous times etc...).
