Does anyone know if Middletown Fire has plans to switch to RISCON full time anytime soon? They sometimes use the Middletown Townwide RISCON channel, but for primary they use their old frequency. The reception on it is terrible. I listen from 1 mile away from their tower and reception is pretty poor. I hear all surrounding agencies on RISCON East as clear as day. They are one of the last safety agencies left in the area (state maybe?) that don't use it full time.
Do they need to switch out all of their equipment to use the RISCON full time? I wouldn't imagine so since they communicate with Newport and Portsmouth on it. I've been wondering for a while now.
