Is there much to hear in Minnesota (Twin Cities area) on the Military Air Band between 225 to 280 MHz? I have an Alinco DR-235 that receives both AM & FM up to 280 MHz, and with the general lack of activity on 1.25m I am wondering if there is any Mil-Air in this part of the country (beyond scratchy signals of Brazillian pirates using the Satcom repeaters)? In the past I've programmed various national Mil-Air frequencies on my FT-60r (AM mode) and used a decent antenna but never heard anything.

the band goes up to 380.
as a start,

and the mil air bands are
137 to 144
148 to 150.8
225 to 380 and you might want to try the old 400.

and keep in mind they can be quick comms.
"maco 21 to lightning ops RTB"
it helps to have small segments to monitor, quick scanner/SDR, more radios.

I have heard some activity here in the past but I haven't monitored that in awhile so I cant say for sure the current status. But the frequency range in and run a search for awhile and see if you find anything.

Depending where you are in Minnesota, you may hear non-military traffic in the 138-144 MHz band from the state of Wisconsin P25 and mobile computer system or Ontario's P25 trunk system. In Wisconsin, the bases transmit low and in Ontario they transmit high.

From the MSP area, WISCOM and the Bell Fleetnet are going to be much much too far away to be able to pick up without decent tropo or skip.
From the east metro with a small roof top antenna I can hear Wiscom sites two counties into Wisconsin during normal propagation. During tropo I can hear almost to Hayward-Wausau-Black River Falls. Their P25 and MCT control/data channels are 138 MHZ.
