Does anybody know what the law enforcement teams are using for communications to help find the missing child? I know that the NYSP is the leading agency in this I was wondering what channel they may be using
Most SAR communications are on simplex channels such as VSAR16 so your reception would be limited to the immediate search area.If any SAR units are involved they would be on VSAR16 (155.160). Normally in a state park the local park channel would get used or cell phones.
I see, do you know what frequency or TG they are using?NYSP helicopter is currently on scene
Heard more related this morning, some rangers signing into service headed to the search, dispatch requesting a couple of rangers to head to the firehouse near the search, no TAC comms on that though. Also something related to a BOLO on a vehicle, just a wild guess but it may be related to the pickup truck with cooler in the bed that was trying to be found early this morning by the NYSP and Sheriff. The only possibly related thing I have heard on the Adirondack 159.435 Ranger feed all day that could be related was around 11AM. Unit 577 on Spruce "Show 577 clear of the search". Just spot checked the archive for the rest of the day and nothing apparently related.
