Does anybody know what the law enforcement teams are using for communications to help find the missing child? I know that the NYSP is the leading agency in this I was wondering what channel they may be using

If any SAR units are involved they would be on VSAR16 (155.160). Normally in a state park the local park channel would get used or cell phones.
Most SAR communications are on simplex channels such as VSAR16 so your reception would be limited to the immediate search area.

SP helicopter is on the usual car to car 154.665. A unit responded to the helicopter saying they will relay to other units. I'm likely too far to hear anything inside the park if it isn't on a park police or encon repeater.

'At a press conference Sunday afternoon, Governor Kathy Hochul said the search includes air patrols, State Police, the FBI, blood hounds, NY State Park Police, forest rangers, underwater rescue teams, and 2 drones.'

There is some small activity on Park Police talkgroup on saratoga P25 but not widely active. Possibly heard some faint traffic on 155.820 KTP879 that is licensed to the park. Another one would be WQRI395 Spruce Mtn repeaters 159.225, 159.315, 159.435 in addition to Encon SAR tac freqs in the DB NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (New York) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

The only possibly related thing I have heard on the Adirondack 159.435 Ranger feed all day that could be related was around 11AM. Unit 577 on Spruce "Show 577 clear of the search". Just spot checked the archive for the rest of the day and nothing apparently related.

SAR units were finally dispatched at 2100 last night so 155.160 should be active this morning. Depending on who has command I would assume Forest Ranger TAC would also be used (151.220, 151.280, etc)

Was looking on Broadcastify at the Saratoga P25 system on TAC-16 channel and heard search ops such as vehicles going to many different places near the park and noting negative contact. They were specifically looking for a pickup truck with a white cooler in the bed. Then around 6:30am today one of the units returned the TAC-16 channel to service after being used by NYSP and County Sheriff and that all units would be switching over to Car-Car radio communications. If you’d like to hear it yourself it’s here. I’m pretty sure they’d be using the NYSP car-car channel.

Heard more related this morning, some rangers signing into service headed to the search, dispatch requesting a couple of rangers to head to the firehouse near the search, no TAC comms on that though. Also something related to a BOLO on a vehicle, just a wild guess but it may be related to the pickup truck with cooler in the bed that was trying to be found early this morning by the NYSP and Sheriff.
