I wonder if this is the beginning of the analog channel migration? I have no idea. Just throwing it out there.
This is the first NYPD talk group on this system! We will see in the coming days if more frequencies will be simulcast.

I just got a burp on 14005. When they start migrating, they do it as a whole batch for that department and we will see how the pattern of assignments get laid out.

Yes. I also logged 14011, 14013, 14014 yesterday with 330000 RID. Also, 14003 with a different RID, so probably not connected. They were all just one time key-ups.

Why on earth would they put MN/SI on the ICN if only a handful of their units have radios that can utilize TDMA. The only Agents / Supervisors I’ve seen with Trunking capable radios are the guys in Personnel Bureau with VX-P949 (APX900) radios, I have yet to see anyone that regulars that frequency with that radio or an APX NEXT. As a matter of fact, I’ve only seen the Citywide Traffic Task Force / Transportation Bureau UMOS with VX-537s (which is also what the majority of Traffic Enforcement Division has) and VX-P824s (which I’ve seen a few Traffic Level 4s and higher brass with). I’m a little confused with this move, if anyone has anything further on this do post, I’m curious.

They are not actually "on" there. The audio is just being patched onto that talkgroup from the UHF analog frequency.

Thanks for the response and clarification! Strange that they’d put “MN/SI” instead of the Citywide 3 channel. I’m surprised that ICN, MRRS25 and the other surrounding county TRS don’t have a Citywide 4 patch or simulcast, being that CW4 is the main channel where vehicle pursuits are put over on that channel, sometimes starting in the outlying counties or NJ. I know on the conventional side of things, certain agencies have CW4 on their radios (Yonkers PD, Mount Vernon PD, Port Authority PD, State Police and many others, just listing the ones I’ve heard), I wonder if they’ll make a VHF/7/800 patch for the neighboring/outlying agencies that don’t have radios with UHF capabilities or are single-band. Thanks again for the response!
