Logan County & Edmond Questions

I have the OKWIN system set up on my scanner, and currently listening to the OKC freq list. I get great reception, and have no issues recieving Edmond and Logan Co LE, I'm struggling with FD though. I get Edmond FD dispatch traffic, but no Fireground traffic. For Logan County, I cant receive any of the FD TG's. I do get the Guthrie FD TG off the OKC site, but no Guthrie Fireground.

Curious what the issue is. I'm assuming the TG's listed on RR are good.

I'm starting to wonder if the Fireground TG's are simplex...?

And If the Logan County Fire TG's are only broadcast off the Guthrie OKWIN site, and not system wide (or regional).

I'm in far south Logan County, and while I can get the Guthrie tower, its not a great signal and I lose the control channel now and then - the OKC site is full strength though so that's what I use.

Any of you guys have ideas?

It's impossible for trunked system talkgroups to be simplex.

You can't depend on the database always being current and accurate.

Your FD could be using talkgroups that are not in the database, conventional repeaters or simplex frequencies that may or may not be in the database, or everything could be correct in the database and you can't receive because of programming issues.

So just as I posted that, I think I FINALLY found the issue. The scanner has a default filter on traffic "Service Type" which I've just never stumbled across before, and low and behold there is a filter for "Fire Tac" and in the scanner software, it has all Fireground TG's listed as Service Type: Fire Tac. I just cleared the filter, and have my fingers crossed...........

What scanner and model? Stock or outside antenna?

Turn ON all the Fire service types.

I don't think the Logan County fireground channels show up on the Oklahoma City site. I know for certain the Guthrie ones do not. Deer Creek / Oak Cliff Fireground channels are on both systems. Conversely, Edmond FIre channels do not show up on Guthrie.

Guthrie Police are intemittent on the Oklahoma City site.

I would suggest montoring both sites if possible.
