Monitoring Atlantic County

Is it possible to monitor atlantic county's EDACS system if you have a provoice radio and you set it up for atlantic county. like all of the frequencies and IDs??

not a scanner but an actual public safety radio.

Absolutely possible, but it won't be cheap (~$1000). I use the Jaguar 700Pi--it's a 'heavy' radio, but it receives very well.

Do you have to be a public safety person to legally obtain one of those radios?
