Need a little help here.

What ever happened to Passaic County Road Dept 155.755 and Clifton DPW 151.010?

It seems like all plow type operations once monitored on these frequencies have disappeared or been absent for about year or two now. More County Park operations on 155.755 and only limited building dept code enforcement on Clifton’s 151.010.

It s not a PL/DPL change.

My suspicions are:

  • Have a Talk group on NJICS
  • Have a Talk group on large or regional Commercial DMR/LTR system
  • Moved to cellular based PTT system like “Rapid Radio” which is not monitor-able on any scanner.
If any one has any info please post.

Thank you.

Maybe on OneVoice? There's a bunch of DPWs on there OneVoice Network Trunking System, Various, Multi-State though I don't see Passaic County of City of Clifton. Could be on NJICS, a bunch of Passaic County has moved there, CLifton Or like you said it could just be all cell phones and data plans.

Radio reference has it as 155.775 not 155.755, could it be as simple as that?
My bad it’s a typo it is 155.775. But again it’s just Park Matainence here.🤷🏻‍♂️
Prehaps it’s a trend to save money on maintaining local radio systems…

I'd take that deal. It'd be prohibitively expensive to have a radio system for the DPW. Passaic County is pretty big and oddly shaped, so one high band VHF channel was probably always tricky. Grab a talkgroup on OneVoice or NJICS. You havta buy the new radios but you can just put one in each truck. It's not like emergency services where you need a bunch of portables too.

Could be on POC radios. Hawthorne DPW uses ITalkptt, how do I know? I set them up when I worked for their Vendor. They still use 45.3200 136.5 as the POC radio is not tied into the Police Console but 45.320 is.
