In Monroe County NY the emergency services are on the Simulcast system. I am monitoring them with an SDS100. One of the challenges that I face is consistent volume. of transmissions. In other words sometimes the dispatches and responses are at a very low volume and sometimes without changing anything they are very loud.
Example, Dispatch of Rochester Fire is low, but the units responding are normal or very loud.

So inconsistent volume is a challenge as I turn it up when it is low and get blasted when it is loud.

Thoughts???

@dom6vrr Volume offset only applies at the talkgroup level, not to individual subscriber IDs.

This is a consistent issue in L3 Harris environments, subscriber audio on Harris radios has never been a particularly easy chore, and of course different dispatchers whether they are Symphony or MCC consoles always muck up audio levels depending on how they use headsets and how loud they talk. L3 subscribers on p25 however always have a tendency to be blasting loud even with gains turned way down.

My home 20 eating pizza.
Same for my home system in Pa. I’ve made a few suggestions in the Uniden forum if we can have alert tones and alert lights to go off for specific radio IDs we should be able to volume adjust +/- like we can for TGs. I don’t even know if it would be possible but it would be lovely when certain people can barely be heard and others are so loud they practically blow out the speaker and windows.
