I was listening to McLennan and the Waco TRS all night last night. Today there are news reports of a fire in Moody that Moody VFD and Bruceville-Eddy responded to but I never heard a thing. Anyone know how they are dispatched? I sure would like to listen but they may be on telephones and pagers. Thanks

Dude Moody is dispatched out of Bell County. I happened to have the Bell County Fire Pagers on here at work, but I didn't hear anything. Perhaps I wasn't paying attention.

Ok disregard. Moody Police is dispatched out of McLennan.
But i'm sure the Moody VFD is PAGED out of Bell County.
VFD's have quite a few different side channels they could be on.

Thanks, Perplexing. I’ve entered all the frequencies in that area but nothing coming across as FD. Unfortunately if there aren’t any incidents VFD’s usually are very quiet. 154.2500 has some Moody traffic but sounds like city services. Found the PD and it matched Radio Reference. I may be out of luck. Time to seek out a volunteer to get the skinny.

what about the MC County Fire?

154.41500 WQAU346 RM 100.0 PL McLennanFire Fire Dispatch

try

155.85 ?

Just have to search the FCC Licenses.
Or try Close Call or something

Also Bruceville/Eddy and Lorena aren't in the DB either, always wondered about that.

I noticed that McGregor and City of Moody are both licensed for 154.250 MHz. This is McGregor's Fire Repeater. I'd bet it's also Moody's. Checking here I notice that one antenna site is at least halfway between McGregor and Moody. I'd park on this until it's confirmed- some VFDs can take weeks or months to get dispatched.

Crawford, McGregor, Moody & Bruceville/Eddy are all dispatched
out of McGregor on 154.250...PL 136.5.
All of Bosque County fire depts. are also dispatched on 154.250..PL 100
( you can thank some frequency-coordinator for this)

Lorena fire is dispatched on the County Fire channel, but also
has their own 154.205

Thanks for the info Duster. I'll be in the area next weekend and was hoping to get this pinned down before I came.

See you there, and I'm sure many others. As my signature says you can catch me on the Nat'l 2m Simplex. My travels will also take me to McLennan and Van Zandt counties that day also.

Texas VFD Radio Freq's

Howdy....just a point to ponder...

You might also program in (if not already done ) all the Texas Common (Interop) VHF freq's:

Texas Law 1-2-3
Texas Fire 1-2-3
Texas Med
Texas Air 1& 2

Up in the North Texas area many of the VFD will use Texas Fire 1 to link on, then go to Texas Fire 2 or 3 to work a situation, especially in a Mutual Aid situations in a rural area...Also, have even heard some (small amount) of Fire Comm's on TX Law freq's once in a great while as well....

You can find them on the Interop / Common TX freq's.

Hope this helps.

Thx

Bill

In this County, the fire depts that are dispatched on the County Fire Channel
will usually switch to the talk-around freq or their own freq, if they have one.
When things get real busy, or involve several depts, then some will switch to the
Tx Fire mutual-aid freqs.
Waco does have the ability to cross-link their 800 system to the County Fire freq
when they are requested for mutual-aid.

The Inter-Op list I got from the State does NOT include AIR 1...only AIR 2, along
with TxLaw 1,2,3,...TxFire 1,2,3, & TxMed 1 , along with the 5 V-CALL channels.
It notes that "Texas AIR 1 is reserved and not available for use in this plan'.
I have all these freqs in our radios now.

I have Air 1 as 159.3 CSQ. It is not part of the Texas InterOp freqs. IIRC, it is reserved for state or federal ops (Forestry) and use is restricted.

I picked up Moody FD today on 154.2500. That was without tone. As slow as this freq is, I'll just leave it no tone. Thanks for the help.
