Where is the funding coming from? The Federal stimulus bill? The metro budget? Seems like with money so tight it's gonna be hard to find that kind of money locally or at the state level.

This is from the stimulus bill... a done deal. It may take up to six months for the money to appear, but it's coming.

So, this Main Street Recovery, are these items that have been requested or is this really money city's will see? It seems to good to be true (aside from the obvious, someone will have to pay for it), which leads me to question it. Anyone researched to know what is really going on?

It is the "stimulus bill" under a different name. So the money is coming.
But so will higher taxes

I guess I was talking about the website, Main Street Recovery, posted by unitcharlie. In it is an outline for 88 million for Bowling Green and 653 million for Louisville. Can all those requests be met, just in KY you would be getting close to a trillion dollars. But I cannot find on the web site exactly what these lists represent.

The US Conference of Mayors Report 17 January 2009 lists these projects put points, "Today The U.S. Conference of Mayors releases the fourth in its series of reports on infrastructure projects that are “ready to go” in cities across the nation – projects that meet local infrastructure needs and contribute to local economic development goals, that can be funded quickly through existing federal channels and start quickly when funding is received, and that
can generate the significant numbers of jobs that are needed to counter the severe economic problems we face today in our metro areas and our nation as a whole." This is going to become really interesting....
