Long story short, I have been putting off buying a new police scanner. My local PD went P25 a few years ago. The reviews of the top tier Uniden and Whislter didnt get great reviews.

I decided to wait. This year seems like a good year to finally get a scanner. I am really excited to get my hands on the new SDS100!

While doing my research I have noticed the wideband scanners from Icom and AOR will decode all/most digital modes including P25.

I dont really know much about the structure of the new digital modes, but will the Wideband scanners follow police comms?

No. Icom and AOR are wideband receivers, not scanners. If you want to monitor trunked digital systems the SDS100 is a much better choice.

I've seen from your other post that you are near the Columbus area. If you would like a hands on experience with Uniden's soon to be released SDS100 PM me and we'll set something up.
