Quick question for y'all. With local PD RIDs on the Morris County system, xxxx1xxx would be a portable and xxxx2xx would be a mobile, correct? In other words, say for Town of Boonton. 1401101 would be a portable, and 1401201 would be a mobile?

Thanks!

You've got it backwards. Also, the OTA aliases make it quite clear, are you not decoding them?

Unitrunker won't decode the aliases as it's not capable of TDMA. No clue if a Unication is capable.

Negative, it can't. And the good stuff currently responsibly isn't appropriately programmed. Thanks for the answer man, appreciate ya.

Not via long way around? UT VFO tuned to voice channel and open logging file? On my to try list. Have not looked yet.
No. Unitrunker does not decode P25 TDMA, so it doesn't matter what you do with the VFO. If you want to decode ASTRO 25 OTA aliases, you need SDRTrunk or DSD+ Fast Lane or a subscriber radio capable of Group Services (i.e. an APX)

Up on soapbox. Not a fan of detailed aliasing at all. This is transmitting PII and that could create issues. Badge numbers are just fine.
Every single aliases going out over the air comes straight out of Provisioning Manager within the system itself. Those aliases are provided by the county and respective local agencies, and they are all very aware that they are in the clear by now. If they felt they were causing issues, they would've done something about them by now. Let's not derail this thread with oft-repeated personal opinions about policies hobbyists have zero input or control over.

I got off my lazy backside and fired up the good laptop, running SDR trunk. It's not decoding aliases. Think I might have something misconfigured...hmmm.

--Disregard, found it. Long day.--

Well, on a semi-unrelated note. I can now confirm Morris County has some APX NEXT demos testing... :)

And on an equally unrelated note, an individual make reference to skill sets that is well off the mark. APX Next w Smartconnect and RadioCentral is NextGen communications.

In an effort to stay “on topic“ aliasing works real nice on the platform. 🤔

Enough already.

Every county assigns the standardized IDs differently- some just don't assign them at all. Morris County does it one way, Middlesex County does it another way, and then Somerset County does it a third way. As GTR8000 said, seeing the aliases will help. But, you'll notice a pattern regardless of the county evaluated- each service has been assigned a block for their radios within the municipality/recognized agency number. NJICS, on the other hand, is sequential unless a request is made to mirror the existing standardized ID generated by that agency's county for their system.

And there is an understandable reply! Well done!

Thanks! The fire aliases and affiliations to MC Fire 7 kind of fuel my previous suspicion it may be Greystone Park State Hospital. But would State HSPD units fit the parameters of 75-x? I've never really been familiar with how they number their squads.
