I did some logging of TG's the last 24 hours.

A couple I had not seen before, and I don't think I saw them in any of the guides online? If I missed these then I apologize.

33456 1 hit
33840 8 hits
33392 8 hits
33408 2 hits
Thanks

33408 may be MIPD-2, but I have not confirmed it yet.

33840 is two talkgroups higher than Mendham Boro. This may be where Wharton or one of the others swithing to the TRS may be if they don't use the MGLE groups. I'm guessing if they all do switch, instead of each having their own dispatch channel, all will go to MGLE-1 and Mendhams channel as well as the other with become their "private" Tac's.

33456 is personally confirmed as MIPD-4 as Pursuit posted. I found 33392 listed as MIPD-1 in the RR database, but do not know if it was confirmed or not...one day it just appeard in the database. I've had numerous hits on it, but never any voice traffic.

33840 - Heard Wharton Boro "39 Cars" calling MV stops off to County today. Looks like this may be their new talkgroup if anyone can confirm.

So after listening all afternoon I can confirm that:

Talkgroup 33808:
Mendham Boro - 18 cars
Mendham Twp - 19 cars
Netcong - 28 cars
Mt. Arlington - 26 cars

Talkgroup 33840:
Wharton Borough - 39 cars
Rockaway Borough - 34 cars

Guess the switch is now completed. Time to update the database!

Good Job Sybex on clearing that up

Sybex beat me too it. Thanks to all for the updates. Now if we can just figure out the rest of the MI and ALLCOM talkgroups.

I also saw this talkgroup pop up 56688 and the emergency alarm went off on my 396. I think it was a 500 unit (Sheriff's Office) and they were talking about the orange (emergency) button on the radio. May be their emergency group, although I also show TG 16. Listen for that one as well.

I've got the emergency button TGID programmed with an alarm on my 396 as well - and a Sheriff's officer hit it by accident 2 weeks ago when getting into his cruiser. Scared the hell out of me (it was almost 11 pm, and I had the thing going on my nightstand!)

I've made the changes to the database that Sybex submitted - if anyone can find out what the proper names of these TGID's are going to be/are, I'd greatly appreciate it!

I noticed that the towns listed for each totally preclude the ability to make clean 'North & South' or 'East & West' type designations for these new ID's...

The Mendham's are located in the South Central and MT. Arlington and Netcong are in the
Northwest sections of the County. Rockaway and Wharton are in the North Central section.
I'm surprised that the Mendham's are on the same TGID as the other two they share with.

They obviously kept things the way they were before on the lo-band frequencies (except for the addition on Mendham Twp. of course). I think a thing to remember is the departments aren't all that busy so a shared dispatch makes sense plus it doesn't require the COMM Center to monitor any additional channels (talkgroups) than they were before so the physical distance between the departments doesn't factor into things much.

Now whether these will now be referred to as the MGLE talkgroups remains to be seen.

Check the database gents, my inside source came though with the info I needed...

ALSO - the MGLE TGID's are gone - deactivated, and no longer part of the system...

I've been keeping a spreadsheet of all of the unidentified TG's. This one seems to fall between MIOP's and MUN-PD's. We still need to id the MIEM(S) TG's. It seems that there has been some conflicting info with MIPD-2 and MIFD channels in this database and the pdf file which all refer to.

If the spacing is 32 between the MIOP and MUN-PD this would be 2 channels away from MIOP. Are the MIEM TG's going to be encrypted because of HIPA guidelines? Could this be the first id of an MIEM TG?

I heard Encryption being used on 32880, the Search & Rescue talkgroup the other day. Normally all comms are in the clear.

Also heard the 39 units the other day on MUN PD 2 refer to switching over to 4D ("D" for direct I assume). I'm not close enough to have been able to figure out what frequency/talkgroup it may be. I didn't hear anything in ID Search mode so it might be a simplex frequency.

SAR is a function of the prosecutor's office in Morris County. That is probably why it is encrypted.

Grabbed TG 80 in analog yesterday....someone saying "test, test." Also heard testing on MIRS-1 and MIFD-1 at about the same time with the county calling Mendham either Township or Boro Fire on MIRS.
Seems to me it may be a countywide common channel between public safety agencies and local government (DPW, Water, etc) based on the fact it's analog and where it sits in the template. Maybe we found the ALCOM ???
